  • Preparation — 15

  • Servings — 3

Ingredients

  • 4

    Dalisa beef tournedos

  • 750 ml (3 cups)

mushrooms (white, brown or other, as desired)

  • 2

    green peppers

  • 1

    large yellow onion

  • 500 g

    sliced provolone cheese

  • 3

    25-cm (10-inch) baguettes

  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.)

    olive oil

  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.)

    steak spice

  • Butter

  • Mayonnaise

  • Store-bought cheese sauce

  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Remove bacon from tournedos, chop it and set aside.
  2. Cut beef into thin slices.
  3. Julienne green pepper, mince onion and finely slice mushrooms.
  4. In a large non-stick skillet over high heat, cook bacon.
  5. Add green pepper, onion and mushrooms.
  6. If necessary, add a little bit of oil. Add steak spice and season with pepper.
  7. Set aside vegetable mixture in a bowl.

Assembly

  1. Slice open baguettes, spread with a thin layer of mayonnaise and place flat, crust side up, in the same large skillet. Grill one at a time. Set aside on a plate.
  2. In the same pan over high heat, add a little bit of oil and quickly cook about 8 to 10 slices of beef, turning them halfway through cooking.
  3. Place a portion of the vegetable mixture and a few slices of provolone cheese on top of the beef.
  4. When the cheese has melted, place the bread on top of the cheese. Using a spatula, flip the sandwich onto serving plate.
  5. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 to assemble each sandwich.
