Ham & Maple Sausage Jelly

Ingredients

    Dalisa Ham & Maple Sausages

  • 1/2

    red onion, finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup

    of brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup

    of liquid coffee

  • 2 tbsp

    of maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp

    of balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tbsp

    of Meaux Mustard

  • 1 tbsp

    of garlic, minced

  • 1/2 tsp

    of cayenne pepper

Preparation

  1. In a large skillet, cook the sausages for 12 to 15 minutes, turning them often. Remove the fat from the pan.
  2. Slice the sausages very thinly.
  3. In the same pan, add the onions and cook for 5 minutes. Add the garlic and continue cooking for 1 minute.
  4. Deglaze with balsamic vinegar.
  5. Add the brown sugar, coffee, maple syrup, mustard and pieces of sausage.
  6. Reduce and simmer 1 to 2 hours or until the mixture becomes like jelly.
  7. Add the cayenne pepper.
  8. Keeps up to 4 weeks in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
