Marinara Sauce

  • Baking — 50 minutes

  • 2 tbsp

    of olive oil

  • 1/2

    onion, chopped

  • 3

    garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 tbsp

    of tomato paste

  • 1 can

    of whole tomatoes (796 ml)

  • Fresh basil and thyme to taste

  • Salt and pepper


  1. In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat.
  2. Cook the onion for about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute.
  3. Add the tomato paste and mix well. Cook for 1 minute to infuse.
  4. Add the canned tomatoes and break them up with a wooden spoon. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 30 minutes, covered, stirring a few times.
  6. Add the herbs and season with salt and pepper generously. Serve with meatballs over spaghetti.
