Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

of olive oil

onion, chopped

garlic cloves, minced

2 tbsp
of tomato paste

1 can
of whole tomatoes (796 ml)

Fresh basil and thyme to taste

Salt and pepper
Preparation
- In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat.
- Cook the onion for about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute.
- Add the tomato paste and mix well. Cook for 1 minute to infuse.
- Add the canned tomatoes and break them up with a wooden spoon. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 30 minutes, covered, stirring a few times.
- Add the herbs and season with salt and pepper generously. Serve with meatballs over spaghetti.
