Sausage and Date Bites

slices of bacon

toothpicks, soaked overnight in water

Chopped chives
Sauce
-
3 tbsp
of maple syrup
-
3 tsp
of Dijon mustard

1 tsp
of sambal oelek
Preparation
- Bake the sausages in the oven at 375°F for about 15 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking. Let cool and slice each sausage into 7 slices.
- Garnish each date half with a pecan, a basil leaf and a piece of sausage. Wrap with the bacon slice. Prick with a toothpick to hold.
- Bake the bites in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes, turning them regularly so they do not burn.
- While cooking, mix the ingredients for the sauce in a small bowl, set aside.
- Serve the bites with the sauce and chopped chives.
