Sausage Pizza

Ingredients

Pizza dough (for 2 10 to 12 inches pizzas)

  • 8 g

    or active dry yeast

  • 1 1/4 cup

    of warm water

  • 1/2 tsp

    of sugar

  • 1 tbsp

    of salt

  • 3 cups

    of all-purpose flour

Pizza

  • 1 package (450 g)

    of Dalisa sausages (flavour or your choice)

  • 2

    pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)

  • 3/4 cup

    of pizza sauce

  • 2 cups

    of grated Mozzarella cheese

Preparation

Pizza dough

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in 1/4 cup of lukewarm water. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  2. Add olive oil, salt and 1 cup of lukewarm water. Add flour 1/2 cup at a time, mixing with a wooden spoon until a ball forms.
  3. Flour your work surface and place the dough on it. Knead until the dough becomes smooth and homogeneous.
  4. Place the dough in a large oiled bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Place in a warm place for 1h30. (Ex: in a cold oven with the light on)
  5. Knead the dough again and divide into 2 equal parts.
  6. On a floured work surface, roll out the dough to form about 10 to 12 inch disks. Use as a base for your pizza.

Pizza

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a frying pan, cook the sausages while breaking up the flesh with a wooden spoon. Drain and set aside.
  3. Lightly oil 2 baking sheets and place pizza crusts on them.
  4. Spread the pizza sauce over the dough. Garnish with cooked sausage meat. Sprinkle with cheese.
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the underside of the crust is cooked through and the cheese is grilled.
