Spaghetti sauce with Dalisa sausage

Ingredients

  • 8

    Dalisa Italian sausages

  • 1 pound

    of lean ground beef

  • 1/2 cup

    of celery cut into dices

  • 1/2 cup

    of chiseled onion

  • 1

    diced red pepper

  • 2 teaspoons

    or dried basil

  • 2 teaspoons

    of dried oregano

  • 2 tablespoons

    of olive oil

  • 2 boxes of 796 ml

    of diced tomatoes

  • 2

    chopped garlic cloves

  • 2 cups

    of cold water

  • 2

    bay leaves

  • 1 tablespoon

    of sugar

  • 220 ml

    of tomato paste

  • Pinch

    of salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Wash and trim the vegetables.
  2. Remove the enveloppe of the sausages.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the oil. Sweat onion, celery, pepper, basil and dried oregano.
  4. Add the sausage meat and ground beef, season with salt and pepper and cook well.
  5. Add the 2 boxes of diced tomatoes and the juice and all the other ingredients except the tomato paste.
  6. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add the tomato paste. Simmer for another 15 minutes. Adjust the seasoning and allow to reduce if the sauce is too liquid. Serve with spaghetti.
